BILLY IDOL TO TOUR IN 2023
Billy Idol is hitting the road this year for a series of shows across North America.
Bringing his old buddy and collaborator, Steve Stephens, along, the Rebel Yeller will tour for just shy of 2 months, kicking off the tour in Scottsdale, AZ on March 30 and wrapping things up with an appearance at the classic new wave music festival, Cruel World, in Pasadena, CA on May 20. (All of the confirmed dates are listed below.)
While I'm sure the playlist will primarily consist of his classic hits, Billy has released a couple of EPs over the last few years, including "The Cage," in 2022 and "Roadside,"in 2021, so I wouldn't be surprised if he performs a number of songs from those releases as well. He began 2023 with being honored a star on Hollywood's legendary Walk of Fame.
About the upcoming tour and his current status, Billy recently told the entertainment industry publication, Variety, "Some way or other, by hook or by crook, I finagled my way into this position where I'm still going strong and enjoying it. We just started playing because we loved it. Maybe it would last six months or a couple, three years. And now it's almost 50 years later. The music we've been putting out lately has been fantastic.”
