Released on September 29, 1992, Dirt was the second studio album by Alice in Chains, yet their last with the original members.  Both a critical and commercial success, Dirt featured some of the band's best known songs, including Would?, Rooster, Them Bones, Down in a Hole and Angry Chair.  The lyrical content of Dirt dealt, heavily, with the individual band members' life issues, most notably lead singer Layne Staley's drug addiction. Although much darker, thematically, than their debut album, Facelift, Alice in Chains' Dirt went onto sell 5 million copies, worldwide, and peaked at number 6, on the Billboard 200.
