These shows were performed to promote Led Zeppelin's most recent album, at the time, Led Zeppelin IV. Released on November 8, 1971, Led Zeppelin IV remains the band's biggest selling album in the US, and featured many of the songs that defined Led Zeppelin, as one of the greatest bands in rock n roll history, including Stairway to Heaven, Misty Mountain Hop, Black Dog, Going to California, and When the Levee Breaks, all of which continue to receive regular airplay on contemporary classic rock radio. Led Zeppelin IV is on countless lists, as one of the best rock albums, of all time.
