CYNDI LAUPER ANNOUNCES VEGAS RESIDENCY AFTER ENDING FAREWELL TOUR

I guess what she said is true - that girls just wanna have fun. And performing live is what the legendary Cyndi Lauper considers fun.  I can tell you from personal experience that watching her perform live is fun – she’s great live!

The superstar has, literally, just wrapped her farewell tour, appropriately titled the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, named in honor of her debut single that catapulted the relatively unknown singer to global superstar.  And she has officially announced a short residency, in 2026, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, titled Cyndi Lauper: Live in Las Vegas. 

While considered by many to be an ‘80s breakout star, Cyndi Lauper proved that she has true staying power.  However, she did completely capture the essence of that decade, musically and visually, with both her iconic and individual style, catchy pop songs and absolute top notch production.  Her debut album, She’s So Unusual, has been forever locked as a 1980s pop juggernaut, yet doesn’t receive the acclaim it should as a new wave masterpiece.  The electronic instrumentation and use of synthesizers, for that time, was far ahead of what most of her peers were even attempting to accomplish.  I truly believe this, and all of her follow up releases, helped her achieve overwhelming support for induction in the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (She will be inducted along with Bad Company, who she credits for helping launch her singing career.)

Although she has admitted she wants to slow down from touring, Cyndi has scheduled 5 shows for this Las Vegas residency, the dates of which are below:

• An artist pre-sale at 10:00 am PST on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
• A Live Nation pre-sale will begin at 10:00 am PST on Thursday, Oct. 9; fans sign up for free All Access membership to access this pre-sale.
• General public ticketing then starts at 10:00 am PST on Friday, Oct. 10, through Ticketmaster.
