Starring Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Phoebe Cates and Judge Reinhold, along with a soundtrack containing some of the biggest artists of the 1980s, and a theme song, by Jackson Browne, that continues to receive regular radio air play, Fast Times at Ridgemont High was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress as being culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant. The movie is also acknowledged for introducing Vans sneakers to the mainstream.
