Released in 1972, from the album Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player, Crocodile Rock became Elton John's first #1 US single. Inspired by early rock n' roll and the song Eagle Rock by the Australian band Daddy Cool, Crocodile Rock features Elton John on organ, an instrument he's not immediately recognized for playing.
