QUEEN TO CELEBRATE FREDDIE MERCURY'S 80TH BIRTHDAY WITH FANS

Queen fans, you may want to look into making some travel plans for September as the band has officially announced a birthday party to celebrate the 80th birthday of Freddie Mercury.

Scheduled to take place on September 5, at the Casino Barrière located in Montreux, Switzerland, the city where Freddie Mercury spent his final years, his 80th birthday celebration is officially titled and announced as (per Queen's post on social media): "The Official Freddie Mercury Birthday Party 2026 - 'The Great Prentender's Gala." It is in support of The Mercury Phoenix Trust.

The band went on to state that "the dress code for party guests will be 'Fancy and Formal,' we are leaning into Freddie's smarter, sharper dress sense, so think tuxedos, dresses, waistcoats, cravats, scarves and maybe even a monocle or face mask. Dress for a Rock n' Roll Ball! Tickets, T-shirts and posters will be available to purchase later this month. Further party information will also be announced at this time."
