Formed in 1975 by Ian Fraser Lemmy Kilmister, the band's bassist, singer and songwriter, Motorhead released 23 studio albums, 10 live albums and 5 EPs. They are one of the most influential bands for many contemporary heavy metal and punk rock artists due to Motorhead's fusion of punk rock elements, into their music, which helped pioneer the speed and thrash metal sounds. Motorhead's career came to an abrupt end, in December 2015, when Lemmy Kilmister suddenly passed away after a short battle with a very aggressive cancer.
