These shows were part of Bon Jovi's first major worldwide tour and were performed to promote Bon Jovi's third studio album, also titled Slippery When Wet. Released by Mercury Records, in North America, and Vertigo Records, internationally, on August 18, 1986, Slippery When Wet is Bon Jovi's most successful album, and features some of the band's best known hits including You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' on a Prayer and Wanted Dead or Alive, all of which continue to receive regular airplay on classic rock radio stations, worldwide. Slippery When Wet spent 8 weeks in the Billboard 200 album charts and is certified twelve times Platinum, ranking it as one of the 100 biggest selling albums in the United States.
Our Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet US 1986-1987 Tour men's unisex tee is made from 100% black cotton and spotlights the artwork of the road sign that was featured on the wet t-shirt of a busty woman, which was initially intended to be the artwork for the Slippery When Wet album cover. That cover art was changed, immediately prior to the album's release, to a wet garbage bag, for the copies sold in the United States. The female artwork was used as the album cover for copies sold internationally. The back of this shirt lists the dates and cities of each concert of the Slippery When Wet US 1986-1987 Tour.
